The unglamorous half of enterprise technology
Quintet Works is an engineering consultancy. We understand a process before replacing it, integrate with the system nobody wants to touch, and stay on call after go-live.
Software engineers and AI researchers work in the same team here rather than at separate vendors, so the person who designs a system is the person who has to operate it.
Most of what we build is not greenfield. The interesting problems are usually about connecting to, or gradually replacing, something that already keeps a business running, without a freeze long enough to break it.
How we work
Decisions, written down
Every significant architectural choice is recorded with the alternatives considered and the reason one won. The next team inherits the reasoning, not just the code.
The same people, end to end
Whoever designs the system builds and operates it. There is no handover between a strategy deck and an implementation team.
Small slices, real users
Work reaches production in increments someone can use. A system nobody has touched has not been tested.
Your cloud, your code
We work in repositories and cloud accounts you own from the first commit. Taking the work in-house never requires a migration.
Built to be handed over
Runbooks, dashboards and on-call procedures ship with the system. You should be able to stop working with us without drama.
We will say no
If a discovery concludes that you do not need the system you asked for, that is what the report says.
What an engagement looks like
The same four stages, whatever the work is called. Each one ends with something you can review.
- 01
Discovery
We follow the work end to end and come back with a sequenced plan, an architecture proposal and a cost envelope.
- 02
Architecture
The expensive, hard-to-reverse decisions get made deliberately and recorded with their alternatives.
- 03
Delivery
Releasable increments, an automated deployment path from week one, and a rollback that has been rehearsed.
- 04
Handover or run
You take it in-house with documentation and training, or we keep operating it under a managed service.

Describe the problem in a paragraph. We will tell you whether it is one we can help with.
